We welcome donations of objects, archives, and books that hold particular significance to the history of aviation and spaceflight.

While we understand and appreciate the personal importance of these materials, each item of a potential gift must be rigorously reviewed and carefully considered to ensure they align with our specific collection goals and rationale.

If you believe that you own items that meet the Museum’s collecting criteria, please email us.

In your message, please include all of the following:

1.    Phone number and mailing address
2.    Complete list of each item to be donated
3.    Total volume (Please provide dimensions of any three-dimensional objects. For archival materials, please provide an approximate size of the collection.)
4.    Condition (Is there any mold, staining, or any other kind of damage?)
5.    Provenance (Who is the creator? Who owns the property and copyrights?)
6.    Images of the items, if possible

The National Air and Space Museum does not accept unsolicited donations either by mail or delivered in person. Unsolicited donations may be disposed of, returned, or retained at the sole discretion of the National Air and Space Museum.
