Note: The weather forecast is cloudy with rain, so this event will take place inside College Park City Hall with hands-on activities instead of stargazing.
Take a journey through this astronomy night program while you're out and about in College Park, Maryland. Join Museum staff at the College Park City Hall and enjoy hands-on activities to explore astronomy in new ways.
Touch and hold real meteorites from space, see yourself in infrared light, and explore how blinking stars help us find our place in the galaxy. Learn how to read a sky map, observe the Sun in ultraviolet light, and test your knowledge of the Universe with a matching game.
This event is presented in collaboration with the City of College Park. Activities are being facilitated by the Museum, the University of Maryland AstroTerps, and the National Capital Astronomers.
Due to the forecast of rainy weather, hands-on activities will take place indoors at College Park City Hall, 7401 Baltimore Avenue. For status updates, call the Astronomy Education number at 202-633-2517 or check this page after 12 noon on the program day.
