WAVES Operate the Celestial Navigation Trainer 80-G-298700
In December 1944, two unidentified WAVES operate the control booth of the Celestial Navigation Trainer at Naval Auxiliary Air Station Whiting Field near Pensacola Florida. The “crab” on the plotting table generates a track of the trainee’s simulated navigational flight. The operators could input a variety of wind and atmospheric conditions to test the students’ skills.
