This collection consists of 44 black and white gelatin silver print photographs of airplanes and related aviation personalities; all but one were taken in the United States between 1925 and 1930. The majority of the airplanes pictured are Fokker Aircraft Corporation models photographed somewhere in the New York City area, likely at the Fokker (Atlantic) facility in Hasbrouck Heights or at adjacent Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, or at one or more of the airfields in nearby Long Island, New York. Many of these photographs were taken by Reid Studio (Paterson, New Jersey); unattributed photographs of Fokker aircraft are believed to be Fokker company photographs, some of which may also have been taken by Reid Studio for Fokker. Fokker models include the Fokker F.VII, F-10, F-11AHB, F.XIV, and F-32 (US Model 12); and the Fokker Universal (Atlantic Model 4) and Super Universal (US Model 8). The Fokker section also features a circa 1911 photograph of company founder Anthony H. G. "Tony" Fokker seated at the controls of the Fokker Spin II in Germany.
A smaller section pertains to the Bellanca Aircraft Corporation of America, featuring an interior factory view likely taken at Bellanca's rented facility on Staten Island (New York City, NY). Also included are photographs of Bellanca CH-200 and CH-300 models and the Bellanca K "Roma" photographed by Sanborn Studio (Wilmington, DE). Other aircraft pictured include the Ireland N-2 (N2) (Amphibions N-2 Neptune); the Goodyear airship "Defender" (r/n NC-12A) at Miami, FL, and the Zeppelin LZ 127 "Graf Zeppelin" at NAS Lakehurst, NJ. Aviation personalities pictured include Orville Wright, Charles and Anne Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart, Richard E. Byrd, Clarence Chamberlin, Bert Acosta, Bernt Balchen, and others.
